Nu-X Core – Release Date: Jan 2024 ??
The Nu-X Stereo Core Looper (NCL-2) is a fantastic looper for those wanting a basic to mid-level, inexpensive pedal with a little more to offer. Actually, this pedal offers quite a bit more than the average single foot switch looper, and includes features normally found in more advanced pedals.
On top of all the standard functions you’d expect for a good single foot switch looper (Record/Play/Overdub, Undo/Redo, Stop/Clear) the Nu-X Core Stereo pedal also gives you up to 6 hrs looping time, 99 memory locations to save your tracks, a Hi Definition TFT colour LCD screen interface, a headphone jack, 3.5mm Midi interface, Stereo (or Dual-Mono) In/Out, and a built-in Drum machine with 50 drum patterns to choose from!!
Turning the Value knob scrolls you thru the 99 available memories, while clicking the value knob allows you to adjust the volume of either the loops or the drums.
You can choose to send the guitar & loops out one of the outputs while the drums are sent to the other output, or everything out together (as stereo or as mono). Cab sims are available for output to a mixer.
The stereo in/out could instead be used as dual mono, where you can plug in a second instrument and keep them separate at the output.
Nearly every parameter is accessible thru the Midi port, and a cable is included for your convenience.
A neat little extra feature is the ability to change the LCD screen display to your own animated GIF if you wish, up to 8 seconds of animation, or up to 1 Mb file size.
USB-C connectivity allows for file transfer, firmware updates and memory arrangement.
Since the Nu-X Core Stereo supports only 32 bit (although the ADA is 24-bit), 44.1Mhz wav format, you’ll need to be sure your files are in the correct format to be recognized. You can download the free Nu-x Format Converter at the Nu-X website if you need.
