Release Date: Oct 2025
What can you say about a loop pedal that has so many useful features and functions packed in to a single solid box, other than ‘Just BUY ONE’ ??
It seems like Nu-X has been listening to what Loopers everywhere have been asking for in a two track loop pedal, and they’ve come out with what may currently be the best choice for those looking to upgrade their old RC-500 while keeping a very similar footprint on their pedal board, or to replace the few shortcomings of the Sheeran+ looper with something more advanced.
It’ll be difficult to keep this article relatively short yet informative on all the capabilities that are packed into this bright yellow beast.

You can have a bit of fun with the large full colour LCD screen on this looper. I’m always amused when I let someone turn on my gear & they get a custom GIF of a system crash, malfunction or virus warning!! Any GIF of up to 1 MB and up to 960 × 376 pixels can be used for your start up screen …
Imagine powering up someone else’s gear & they see something like this, followed by saying “What the hell did you do ??” LOL
On the back panel, there are a few notable features:
- a Combo input with 48v phantom power option for condensor mics or standard dynamic mics
- 1/4″ Input jack for guitar, bass or other instruments
- Two 1/4″ Out jacks for stereo, dual Mono or split signal outs
- an Aux in jack (3.5mm TRS)
- Headphone Out Jack (3.5mm TRS)
- Midi In & Out (2 x 3.5mm TRS)
- 1/4″ TRS jack for the (included) external dual pedal
- Power input jack

Sorry, there is no battery compartment, and no power switch to turn the pedal on or off. You have to disconnect the power jack to shut down this pedal.
You’ll be able to decide how to use the 1/4″ stereo outputs of your machine, making it more customized to your particular needs. Drums on one output, guitar/mic & loops on the other, or all out as L&R Stereo, or Guitar on one output with mic on the other, etc. You’ll be able to apply a CabSim to your output if you’re sending directly to a PA without an amp, and you’ll be able to apply Octave, Boost and Reverb as well. Sorry, the Reverb can only be applied to either the drums or the mic input, but not both, and not the guitar input. You’ll want to keep around a select group of effect pedals when using this loop station.
Nu-X has generously
included several bonuses in the package, including their add-on pedal, NMP2-Lite and a 2 meter long TRS cable to greatly increase your control options, right out of the box!! You’ll also find a User’s Guide, some Nu-X bling, a power adapter, and a USB-C to USB-C data cable with an adapter if you need a USB-A on one end.
The NMP-2 Foot Switch can be used a any way you choose, by selecting from the functions for each switch from the menu in the settings. Options are:
- Navigate Memory locations up & down
- Drums On/off
- Tap Tempo
- Track Stop/Clear
- Record/Play Overdub Tracks 1 & 2
- Effects On/Off
One thing about using the external pedal that is often not utilized even by advanced loop artists, is the Memory Up/Down controls. There’s nothing stopping you from combining adjacent memory locations into a larger, more intricate single performance. Imagine setting the tempo, drums, fills, effects and whatever other settings for Memory 62, and during your performance, you sneak into memory 63 where you’ve set a different drum kit, a different set of patterns & fills and a different percussive intensity with the same effects and maybe a slightly slower tempo. You may lose the loops you may have made, but you could give yourself far more musical terrain to traverse in creative ways. Add to that the possibility of backing tracks or loops you’ve pre-saved into the memories you’re using, and your possibilities are multiplied to whatever you wish!!
The USB-C port facilitates firmware updates and file transfers, and acts as a stereo in/out interface to your DAW or other software.
Overall, the Nu-X Dual Loop Stereo is a pretty complete package for almost any looper where two recording tracks is enough. It’ll even allow you to
Basically, get one before they become hard to find!!
