Ditto Mic – Release date: Jan 2015
As the name implies, this pedal is for looping anything captured by microphone as opposed to plugging in a guitar. You might have noticed that this Ditto looper is branded as TC Helicon, not TC Electronic …. So, what gives ??
Well, TC Electronic & TC Helicon were once part of the same company, the TC Group. But now (as of the time of writing this article, June 2025) they both operate independently under the name Music Tribe (Behringer). While TC Electronic deals primarily with Guitar/Bass effects, processors and 1/4″ input equipment, TC Helicon (a Canadian company) focuses on vocal effects, processors and gear such as Harmonizers, Pitch Correction and XLR-based gear. In a nutshell, TC Electronics for guitar, TC Helicon for vocals. (Yes I Googled this, because my first thought was that someone had m
ade a serious mistake at the factory!!)
Apart from this, The Ditto Mic Looper has the same/standard features as other Ditto Loopers:
- True-Bypass, Analogue Dry-Thru
- 24 Bit uncompressed CD Quality output
- 5 minute Looping time
- Unlimited Overdubbing
- Firmware updates via USB
- Undo/Redo Functionality
- Automatically stores the last session between power ups
This Ditto also has:
- Intelligent Auto Gain
- Remote Mic Control
- Always-On Phantom Power
- Two Foot Switch control
- Switchable Dub Modes
Being a Microphone looper pedal, the Ditto Mic has automatic Intelligent Mic Input Gain, Always-On Phantom Power @ 32vdc, and the ability to utilize Mic Control, which is a feature available with either TC Helicon’s MP-75 Mic or the Sennheiser e835-FX Mic. These two microphones have remote control functions that can operate this Ditto pedal right from the microphone !!
Its also nice to have that second foot switch, so that there’ll be no more need for double tapping to stop a track. Yes, you can select the order of Record/Play/Overdub vs Record/Overdub/Play functions. To do so, hold down both foot switches while powering on the Looper. No visible indicator is given, the pedal simply changes the order of Record/Play/Overdub to Record/Overdub Play. Repeat this process to switch the order to your liking. There is also a Track level control knob to adjust the level of your tracks.
Sorry, this pedal does NOT take a battery, so you’ll need a power adapter to operate this pedal, and the power adapter IS included unless specified otherwise. Be aware, this pedal uses a 12vdc adapter, center negative.
**DO NOT USE THE ADAPTER WITH OTHER PEDALS, UNLESS THEY REQUIRE 12VDC.**
