For the past few years, the Boss RC-500 has been regarded by many as possibly the best overall smaller solution to looping in general. It may well be the simplest, most reliable & versatile Loop Station available at the level it is intended for. It does in fact, hit well above it’s weight class. As well, it is easily linked to a second RC-500 to give you exactly twice the looping capacity.

There are numerous routing options available that allow for many configurations and output solutions, if needed. As well, the external foot switches have numerous functions to choose from, and can be configured differently in each memory. If using an expression pedal, there are several functions pertaining to it’s usage as well.
The USB connectivity allows for .wav file transfers, firmware updates, and also acts as an interface to your DAW.

With the added ability to operate on 4 x AA batteries, the RC-500 might well be the best choice for a busker to use outside, or at an open mic, or anywhere away from electricity (at least in the Boss Line-up).
